It’s true. I had only been a father for a few weeks when I drew this cartoon. Reading this now I can recall the strangeness of the time, watching US soldiers pull Saddam Hussein out of his spider hole while my wife was in labor. I had opposed the invasion, joined the marches against it, and railed against the war for many years afterwards. Among the many outrages were the suffering of children and their parents. So many lives were destroyed during that time.
